Tags allow you to create named references to specific policy versions. This can be useful in two main ways:

  1. Use a tag in your Production environment to point to the active policy at any given time. This allows you to test policies and deploy new ones live without changing your API — simply point to the tag, and then when you want to switch out a policy, you can tag the new policy rather than the old one.

  2. Use tags to cluster multiple policies together to run at once. This allows you to test one piece of content or one CSV file against several policies, to get multiple labels/ decisions.

Creating new Tags

  1. To create a new tag, navigate to Manage Tags in the main sidebar.
  2. Click the red “Create New Tag” button on the top right
  3. Enter a name for your Tag (alphanumeric, underscore, and dash only)
  4. Select one or more policy versions this tag should point to. Tags can point to multiple policies for parallel evaluation.
  5. Enter an optional description of what this tag represents
  6. Click “Create Tag”.

Managing and Editing Tags

Once you have created one or more Tags in your Manage Tags section, you’ll see a table with each active Tag as well as an Action section.

In the table, you can sort by each column (i.e. alphabetical by Tag name, or by date create, or date modified).
